The rules of the road.
What LongerHealth is, what it deliberately is not, and what we each agree to. Written to be read rather than skipped.
Where we are. LongerHealth is in active development with a partner practice in Zürich. Parts of the platform are still a demonstration, and some features described on this site are planned rather than delivered. These terms will be reissued in binding form before any real patient record is accepted.
Who these terms are between
These terms are the agreement between you and LongerHealth ("LongerHealth", "we", "us"), a Swiss preventive-health company. They apply when you use the LongerHealth website, the patient application, or the clinician workspace.
Where LongerHealth is provided to you through a medical practice, your relationship with that practice — the clinical care itself, your medical record, fees for consultations — is governed separately by your agreement with them. These terms cover the platform, not the medicine.
If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use the service.
What LongerHealth is — and is not
LongerHealth is an educational and preventive health platform. It helps you gather your health information in one place, understand what it means, and plan changes with a clinician.
It is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease, and it is not certified as a medical device under Swiss or EU law.
It is not medical advice. Scores, projections, plans and insights are educational. They are generated from the information in your record and are only as good as that information. They do not replace consultation with a qualified clinician, and nothing in the platform should be acted on in place of professional judgement.
It is not financial advice. Where the platform discusses working life, retirement or the financial consequences of health, that is illustrative modelling, not regulated financial advice.
In an emergency, do not use LongerHealth. The platform is not monitored in real time and is not an emergency service. If you are unwell or worried about symptoms, contact your doctor, or call 144 in Switzerland or your local emergency number.
Using the service
You must be 18 or over to hold your own account. Records for children are held by a parent or guardian through their own account.
You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter, and for keeping your sign-in details to yourself. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has gained access to your account.
You agree not to: use the service unlawfully; attempt to access records that are not yours; probe, scan or disrupt the service or its security; scrape or bulk-extract data; reverse engineer the platform except where the law expressly allows it; or use the service to build a competing product.
Your record and your data
Your health record is yours. We hold it to provide the service to you. How we handle it — what we collect, where it lives, who can see it, and your rights — is set out in our privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
You can export your record at any time, and you can delete it. Deleting your account removes your data from live systems immediately and from backups within the retention window described in the privacy policy.
You grant us the limited permission needed to store, process and display your data in order to run the service for you. That permission exists for no other purpose. We do not sell your data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not share it with insurers or employers.
Connected devices and third-party services
You may choose to connect third-party services — a wearable such as an Oura ring, or a laboratory or practice system. Connecting is always optional and always under your control.
When you connect a service you authorise LongerHealth to read a defined set of data from it on your behalf. We read only what the connection needs, we use it only to populate and interpret your own record, and you can disconnect at any time from Settings → Devices & Data, or by revoking access from the provider's own account settings.
Third-party services are operated by those companies, not by us. Their own terms and privacy policies govern your relationship with them and their handling of your data. We are not responsible for their availability, accuracy or acts. If a provider changes or withdraws access, the corresponding feature may stop working.
Readings already written into your LongerHealth record remain part of your health history after you disconnect, until you delete them or delete your account.
Availability and change
We aim to keep the service available and accurate, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may add, change or withdraw features, and we may carry out maintenance that makes the service temporarily unavailable.
While LongerHealth is in development, features may change substantially and demonstration data may be reset. We will not reset or discard a real patient record without notice.
Where a change materially reduces what you receive, we will tell you in advance by email or in the product.
Fees
Where a part of the service is paid for, the price, billing period and cancellation terms are set out at the point of purchase. Assessments and clinical consultations delivered by a practice are charged by that practice under its own terms.
Intellectual property
The platform, its software, design, text and underlying models belong to us or our licensors. Nothing in these terms transfers that ownership to you. You keep ownership of the content and health data you put into the service.
Clinical instruments, scoring methods and reference data used within the platform remain the property of their respective owners and are used under licence or as permitted.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under Swiss law.
Subject to that, the service is provided as it is. We do not warrant that scores, projections or insights are accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose, and we are not liable for decisions taken in reliance on them without professional advice. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for loss of profit, or for loss of data where you have not kept your own export.
Ending the agreement
You may stop using the service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that is used unlawfully, or where we are required to by law — and we will tell you why unless we are prohibited from doing so.
You can export your record before closing your account, and for a reasonable period afterwards on request.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Swiss law. The courts of Zürich have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory right you have as a consumer to bring proceedings where you live.
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
Changes, and how to reach us
We will announce material changes to these terms in the product and by email at least 30 days before they take effect, with a visible record of what changed. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.
